The global textile industry is undergoing a profound transformation, shifting from scale expansion to value creation. But where lies the next growth engine? On August 25, the 2026 Yarn Expo Autumn/Winter China International Yarn Exhibition officially opened at Hall 8.2 of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), offering a clear answer from the very source of the industry chain. This edition features eight specialized domestic exhibition zones: Creative Fancy Yarn, Luxury Cashmere Yarn, Premium Wool Yarn, Sustainable Linen Yarn, Lustrous Silk Yarn, Functional Synthetic Yarn, Fashion Cotton Yarn, and Cloud Yarn Smart Link. With an exhibition area of 27,000 square meters, it brings together nearly 600 high-quality fiber and yarn companies from 14 countries and regions, including over 90 international exhibitors, comprehensively showcasing a full range of innovative achievements from natural fibers to functional new materials.

On the exhibition floor, leading companies showcased their core technologies, addressing the critical question of how the industry's new positioning—centered on technology, fashion, sustainability, and health—can empower the sector from its very source. Yibin Grace Group Co., Ltd. unveiled its independently developed high-strength bio-based Yacer® fiber, alongside upgraded Yacer Cotton™ and Yisail® fiber derived from recycled textiles. Boasting high strength, ultra-softness, UV resistance, and a low carbon footprint, these products have drawn significant industry attention. Suzhou Jingyi Textile Import & Export Co., Ltd. presented a comprehensive range of biodegradable, recycled, and eco-friendly functional vortex-spun yarns. Backed by 357 Murata vortex spinning machines from Japan, the company's star products, such as its matte Cloud Wood Fiber, are derived from natural wood pulp. Fully biodegradable, they are perfectly suited for a wide array of trendy fabric applications.

Exhibits from Shandong Weiqiao Textile Technology Co., Ltd. span multiple sectors, including home textiles, professional workwear, and sports and wellness. Its pet-friendly series focuses on pet hair repellency and tear resistance. As the lead drafter of the group standard for Pet Hair-Repellent Home Textile Fabrics, the company is spearheading the standardized development of the industry. Leveraging 3D body scanning and modeling, its seamlessly knitted comfort compression pants deliver zoned gradient compression, making them ideal for professional sports and rehabilitation. Xinxiang Chemical Fiber Co., Ltd. centers its innovation on a four-dimensional approach encompassing grass, wood, waste, and recycling. General Manager Zhang Jiaqi elaborated on how Juncao fiber realizes the concept of "replacing wood with grass." The world's first Juncao fiber pilot production line, with an annual capacity of 5,000 tons, has officially commenced operations. Authoritative testing confirms that it achieves an antibacterial and antiviral efficacy rate of over 99.9% against various bacteria and viruses. Jiangsu Yijinlong Technology Co., Ltd. introduced four product lines: Premiere, Everyday, Trendline, and SPORT. Its flagship SPORT series features an ice-blue, wavy, hollow-out cooling yarn made with Coolmax functional yarn for rapid moisture-wicking and heat dissipation. Additionally, the company has established the Fortune Innovation Center to focus on high-tech industries.

Running concurrently with the exhibition, the static showcases for the Tongkun China Fiber Fashion Trends 2026/2027 and the Baisha China Yarn Fashion Trends 2026/2027 were launched simultaneously, helping visitors accurately grasp the latest industry trends. The "New Vision of Fiber: Textile Material Innovation Event" brought together industry experts and university professors for in-depth dialogues on topics such as "technological pathways for low-carbon fibers" and "sustainable circularity." Corporate new product launches focused on "new materials, new processes, and new applications," driving the transition of fibers from industrial raw materials to consumer brands. Tracing back to the source, forging ahead with innovation, and achieving win-win symbiosis, this year's Yarn Expo is taking firm strides to redefine the textile value chain, starting from the very fiber.
